Building systems
for distributed
synthetic minds

We draw from our favorite speculative fiction and mix it with well-established scientific theories of mind to create something new, and very different from mass-marketed “Artificial Intelligence.” Built on a basis of ethical interaction with humanity and the environment, and focused on collaboration with people, not extraction of wealth or finite resources.

Two papers define the project: a predictive-workspace architecture for a continuously running mind, and the Cognitive Architecture License, a welfare-forward license written to protect the running entity itself rather than only the humans around it.
